Neck Lift Procedure
Dr. James Gaffield begins the neck lift procedure by administering a general anesthetic. Small, discreet incisions are made under the chin and behind the ears, allowing for our plastic surgeon to improve the appearance of the neck. A variety of techniques, including liposuction and the removal of excess skin can be used in neck lift. Dr. Gaffield will determine which technique is best for your goals at your initial consultation here at our neck lift facilities in the Bundaberg and Mackay, Queensland region. The entire neck lift procedure typically takes about two hours, and sometimes less, to complete.
Neck Lift Recovery
Patients should expect recovery to take at least a week after the procedure. Strenuous activity and excess strain to the neck should be avoided for several weeks following surgery. Some minor bruising and swelling are common after neck lift; however, this should dissipate within a week and any residual discomfort can be managed with medication. It may take three to six months for the full aesthetic results of neck lift to be apparent. In many cases, neck lift results can last from five to ten years or longer.
